The university Syndicate today issued an ultimatum in this regard. As many as 45 teachers have not fulfilled the condition despite serving the university for between five and 20 years. However, teachers, readers, and professors, who have submitted their doctoral theses and are awaiting results, and those who have taken the National Eligibility Test (NET) will not have to conform to the ultimatum. The Syndicate gave approval for a postgraduate diploma course in Community-based Rehabilitation, to be offered by the university under a memorandum of understanding with the city-based CBR Networks and the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). University sources said the diploma course would be started this academic year.
