BJP plans protest

By Our Special Correspondent

MUMBAI Oct. 29. Notwithstanding the Maharashtra Government raising the cotton procurement price from Rs. 2,300 to Rs. 2,500 a quintal, the BJP said today that it would go ahead with its agitation for a better deal for cotton growers.

The State BJP president, Gopinath Munde, said it would launch its agitation tomorrow demanding Rs. 2,700 a quintal.

The BJP workers will encircle the taluka offices in the cotton-growing regions of Vidarbha and North Maharashtra.
