According to the TTD vigilance guard officer, (VGO), Rudra Kumar, the security personnel, in course of their routine frisking operation in the darshan queue lines, found S. Ukra, a native of Hethur village of Hasan district of Karnataka, in possession of a pistol, smaller than palm size, and immediately took him into custody. They also recovered six bullets from him. After preliminary enquiries, he was handed over to the one-town police. During interrogation by the police, the person, who had come along with his family consisting of 13 persons, reportedly said he had found the pistol abandoned in the vicinity of the Kalyanakatta wrapped in a towel and decided to have it with him, thinking that children would love playing with it.
