The Home Minister, T. Devender Goud, is reported to have informed his Cabinet colleagues that the People's War had constituted an action team with the mandate of hitting a `big target'. Under these circumstances, Ministers should leave nothing to chance. Mr. Goud lamented that most of the Ministers were not taking the threat from the People's War very seriously. They were neglecting their personal security especially when they were on tours. "There is no scope for such negligence. Be very careful," he is reported to have warned at the meeting, which was presided over by the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu. The Cabinet also discussed the issue of preventing misuse of wakf properties. The meeting was informed that properties worth crores of rupees was occupied illegally. Several Ministers were of the view that these encroachments should be forcibly removed, the properties auctioned and the money raised utilised for improving the properties that were in the Wakf Board's custody.
