The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) condemned the attack on dalit students. In a statement here, the organisation accused the ABVP of vitiating the atmosphere on the campus. In another statement, the CPI (Marxist-Leninist-New Democracy) condemned the attack and requested the university authorities to provide safety to SC and ST students. The Committee Against Caste Discrimination demanded suspension of all the ABVP activists involved in the attack The Joint Action Committee of the SFI, the AISF and the PDSU burnt an effigy of the ABVP protesting against the attack on dalit students. B.L. Padma, city secretary, PDSU, U.A. Narayana, city secretary, SFI, and Saidulu, AISF leader, accused the ABVP of terrorising the students as they were losing popularity on the campus. Meanwhile, the ABVP in a statement here demanded that those who had attacked its cadre be arrested immediately. N. Shashidhar, city secretary said that the university had become a haven for unsocial elements, which were working under the garb of caste organisations. He said activists of the TRSV and left wing student organisations were staying on the campus illegally and creating terror. He asked the authorities to immediately evict all the non-boarders.
