Orchid's Q2 profit surges

CHENNAI NOV. 1. Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals achieved a total turnover of Rs. 161.83 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2003 against Rs.111.33 crores and the net profit was up 153 per cent at Rs. 7.30 crores compared to Rs. 2.89 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company commissioned the first phase of its manufacturing JV facility in China, according to K. Raghavendra Rao, Managing Director.

Supreme Petro

Supreme Petrochem registered a net profit of Rs. 5.90 crores in the first quarter ended September 30, 2003. Net sales jumped by 12.39 per cent to Rs. 236.13 crores from Rs. 210.09 crores in the corresponding quarter last year.
