City Union Bank net up

CHENNAI NOV. 1. City Union Bank has registered a higher net profit of Rs. 20.27 crores for the half-year ended September 30, 2003 against Rs. 14.53 crores in the corresponding period in the previous year, a growth of 39.5 per cent. The operating profit has increased by 49 per cent to Rs. 56.91 crores from Rs. 38.12 crores. Total income has risen to Rs. 168.68 crores from Rs. 140.17 crores.

The net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2003 has risen to Rs. 10.12 crores from Rs. 6.34 crores, a growth of 60 per cent.

The operating profit has gone up to Rs. 32.78 crores from Rs. 23.68 crores.

Deposits grew to Rs. 2,614.35 crores from Rs. 2,164.66 crores. Gross advances have gone up to Rs. 1,443.01 crores from Rs. 1,146.25 crores.

Investments have risen to Rs. 1,234.93 crores from Rs. 1,002.33 crores.
