Tribal women attack office

KHAMMAM NOV. 1. The Velugu office in Chintoor was attacked by tribal women backed by the CPI(M) on Saturday.

About 100 women stormed the office, pulled out records and set them afire. They were protesting against the discrepancies in the Velugu survey. They said some well-to-do people in the mandal also figured in the list of the poor.

They wanted action against those responsible for the deliberate omissions and commissions in the survey.
