Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
HYDERABAD, NOV. 2. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, will visit two villages in Ranga Reddi district tomorrow, his first official engagement outside the City after he survived the attack by naxalites at Tirupati on October 1. Mr. Naidu is scheduled to launch the Rs. 1157 crore Andhra Pradesh Micro-Irrigation Project at Raviryal village and later lay the foundation stone for a garment city in nearby Mamidipalli village, both in Maheswaram mandal. A public meeting will be held at Mamidipalli to mark the launching of the micro-irrigation project for which the State Government is arranging nearly 500 buses to mobilise farmers in large numbers from various Telangana districts. Mr. Naidu is also planning to visit West Godavari, East Godavari, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam later in the week. These tours are considered politically significant against the backdrop of reports that Mr. Naidu is considering moves to go in for early Assembly elections.
