MPP chief quits ahead of no-trust move

By Our Staff Reporter

NALGONDA NOV. 2. A day before the proposed no-confidence motion against her, the president of the Matampally Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP), Ghamsibai of the TDP, tendered her resignation to her post on Sunday.

She took the decision at a meeting held in Hyderabad in the presence of party leaders. Ghamsibai, who defied the dictates of the district party leaders, had to step down as nine out of ten MPTC members decided to vote against her. Much to the embarrassment of the TDP, four members of the ruling party also joined hands with the Opposition members and organised camps to vote out her.

According to an agreement reached between the warring factions, Choutupally MPTC, K. Laxmi, will be made the next president of the MPP.
