State-level sports meet from Nov. 8

CUDDAPAH Nov. 2. A State-level sports contest in karate, handball, volleyball and yoga for under-19 sportsmen would be held at Cuddapah, Rajampet and Proddatur from November 8 to 17, said the Cuddapah RDO, Khaja Mohiuddin, on Sunday.

Presiding over a meeting to discuss the arrangements, the RDO urged officials to raise donations for conducting the contests and organise accommodation and food for participants.

The Regional Joint Director of Education, V.V. Satyanarayana, also asked the organising committee to mobilise donations and identify venues to accommodate sportspersons.

The district sports organising secretary, M. Ramachandra Reddy, called for entries from various districts for hockey, karate and yoga contests to be held from November 8 to 10. The Regional Transport Officer, Narasimha Reddy, assured free transport for sportspersons.

The in-charge sports development officer, Ibrahim Basha, the RTC depot manager, R.R.K. Kishore, regional inspection officer of Intermediate, Bhaskara Rao, the Zion College of Physical Education correspondent, K. Rajarathnam Isaac, the Cuddapah MRO, N. Easwaraiah, karate coach, M. Nagur, and others participated.
