Sir, The proposals of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam for an Interim Self-Governing Authority will certainly test the patience and skills of the negotiators as well as that of the Sri Lankan Government.

Sir, I refer to the article "Implications of the LTTE proposals" ( Nov. 3 ). They imply only one thing a separate nation outside the territorial and constitutional integrity of Sri Lanka. Both Colombo and New Delhi should deal cautiously with the proposals, because both have burnt their fingers dealing with this imbroglio in the past.
