Sir, It is unfortunate that the Government has increased the rates for Haj pilgrimage. More than 75,000 people go to Haj through the Haj Committee and another 25,000 through private operators. Most of the Indians who go on the pilgrimage are over 60 years of age. Government fare has become par with that of the private operators, who give free food plus accommodation. I request the Government to reconsider its decision.
