Iraqis' woes

Sir, — The mounting casualties of American troops in Iraq makes sad reading because they are soldiers who were killed or wounded in the line of duty, albeit as a direct consequence of U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq.

But unlike the wounded Americans who receive the best possible medical attention, the seriously wounded Iraqi civilians are lucky if they die quickly.
