Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is generally seen that the arrested, who belong to the lower strata of society, are paraded in the police stations and photographed half naked. They face the full glare of T.V. cameras even if they resist. But if the persons involved are bigwigs, including top police personnel, the police throw a cordon around them providing protection from the media. While one set of accused is treated like third-rate citizens, another is given protection by the law-enforcing authorities. It is said that all are equal in the eyes of law, but some, it seems, are more equal than others.
