Siemens pays 40 p.c. final

MUMBAI NOV. 7. Siemens has announced a net profit of Rs. 139.4 crores for the year ended September 30, 2003 against Rs. 88.58 crores in the previous year. The directors have recommended a final dividend of 40 per cent for the year (inclusive of a special dividend of 10 per cent), which together with the interim of 35 per cent makes a total dividend of 75 per cent for the year.

Net sales for the year were Rs. 1424.53 crores (Rs. 1290.54 crores). Other income amounted to Rs. 41.65 crores (Rs. 29.15 crores).

The profit before depreciation, interest and tax was Rs. 208.54 crores (Rs. 144.36 crores) and interest income Rs. 11.24 crores (Rs. 11.85 crores). The company provided Rs. 23 crores (Rs. 25.78 crores) for depreciation, Rs. 68.8 crores (Rs. 11.7 crores) for tax and Rs. 1.4 crores (Rs. 2.17 crores) for deferred tax.
