This will be the eleventh RMC plant in the country to be set up by the RMC business venture of ACC whose turnover was expected to touch Rs. 170 crores next year against Rs. 130 crores this year with the concept becoming popular since its inception in Mumbai in 1994. Talking to media persons here on Friday, the venture's joint president, S. C. Sachdeva, said the Goa plant was also the first in the country with a franchise arrangement with Aakaash Manufacturing Co. of the flagship Alcon Cement. "The Ponda unit which will initially have a capacity of supplying 30 cubic metres of concrete an hour on demand may be expanded depending on the demand with construction activity picking up rapidly in Goa," he said.
