Khammam civic chief joins TDP

HYDERABAD NOV. 8. The Municipal chairperson of Khammam, Nagamallika, today quit the Congress and joined the Telugu Desam Party.

Dr. Nagamallika met the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, at his residence along with a large number of followers and conveyed her decision. She was also under pressure from the Congress councillors to quit as Municipal chairperson.

Her decision to cross over to the TDP comes close on the heels of reports that another prominent Congress leader and former Minister from the district, Jalagam Prasada Rao, is planning to join the TDP.
