Letters to the Editor
Sir, I was absolutely horrified to see on TV last night and then read in detail in your paper this morning the full account of what happened on The Hindu's premises. It is unbelievable, inexplicable and in fact unconscionable. The Hindu is my favourite paper. I reach for it first thing every morning. I must also tell you that when I was in Srinagar on November 5 to interview Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for the BBC, one of the people I met said that the most reliable and accurate account of what is happening in that State is carried in The Hindu. He laughed and added: "The Hindu is only Hindu in name. It's actually The Indian. It's probably the only truly Indian paper." I share that sentiment totally. Karan Thapar, New Delhi
