In three official releases, she said the Pechiparai dam in Kanyakumari district would discharge 900 cusecs while the Papanasam, Servalar and Manimuthar reservoirs in Tirunelveli would release 1,500 cusecs. A quantum of 250 cusecs of water would be issued from the Bhavanisagar dam for two months to tide over water shortage in areas including Sathymangalam and Gobichettipalayam. The water release from the dams would begin today, she said.
