Amid reports that the BJP Member of Parliament from Bharatpur in Rajasthan, Vishvendra Singh, had sent a letter to the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, indicating that he was resigning from the Lok Sabha, Mr. Naidu, who was talking to reporters, dismissed this as of not much consequence.
He said the decision on candidates was always taken in consultation between the State unit and the Centre, and there was no question of any rift between the party leaders on the issue.
On reports that the party MP from Indore, Sumitra Mahajan, was unhappy and had lodged a protest against non-inclusion of some candidates, Mr. Naidu said there was "no truth in this; nor was she pressing for a ticket for her son.''
