While most of the nominees have been announced by the Congress, the seething dis-satisfaction has made it a veritable battleground for the party. Of the total 230 seats, the Congress is yet to declare candidates for four seats. The BJP is also not ``untouched'' by this phenomenon and it has yet to finalise names for 30 seats. The party is also grappling with the ire of senior leaders besides other challenges. Strict instructions by the Election Commission on poll expenses have also restrained the candidates from imbibing ``extragavant'' measures. Earlier, the Congress and BJP had announced that they would unveil their party nominees well in advance. This would give ample time for the candidates for campaigning, but with the elections just three weeks away, the campaigning has been largely lack-lustre. The Congress had set up an election steering committee under the leadership of state party president Radha Kishen Malviya on Saturday. The BJP leaders are mostly camping at Delhi. -- UNI
