Sir, The sentencing of The Hindu's representatives is an attack on the entire Fourth Estate. Unmindful of the Supreme Court directives on effecting arrests, the Tamil Nadu police are again and again blatantly violating democratic norms. Let us shed the colonial mindset and strengthen democracy. Save The Hindu, save democracy!

Sir, Evident is a blatant disregard of the Constitution and freedom of the Press. This incident will also affect the country's image abroad.

Sir, I am proud to say that I am a reader of The Hindu for the last 20 years. I am very much pained at the events affecting our beloved newspaper. This type of misadventure will never succeed because The Hindu enjoys the support of the several million educated readers around the world cutting across race, religion and caste.
