Nothing contemptible in article: Jaitley

New Delhi Nov. 9. The Union Law Minister, Arun Jaitley, today described the Tamil Nadu Assembly's 15-day prison sentence to six journalists as unfortunate and an instance of power abuse.

During an Iftar party at the residence of the senior BJP leader, Uma Bharti, Mr. Jaitley told reporters that he was under constitutional obligation not to comment on the issue but personally felt there was nothing contemptible in the published article that provoked the order.

The Union Law Minister said he had read the article several times and found nothing objectionable in it. — UNI
