Demonstration by scribes

By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD Nov. 10. Journalists in Gujarat staged an hour-long demonstration here today condemning the Tamil Nadu Assembly's resolution against the journalists of The Hindu and Murasoli. Several journalists from both the print and electronic media denounced the attempts to curb the freedom of the press and expression.

Addressing the gathering, the veteran journalist, Thakorebhai Patel, said that the Tamil Nadu Assembly's resolution and the actions of the Chennai police against the senior journalists of The Hindu were not an attack on a single newspaper or some journalists but were an expression of intolerance of the political leadership whenever the media exposed its tyrannical actions.
