Fire in Kaifiyat Express

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI NOV. 10. Two empty bogies of Kaifiyat Express were gutted in a fire which broke out on platform No. 1 of Old Delhi railway station today. While no one was reportedly injured, the Railway officials were trying to figure out what caused the fire. The incident took place around 2-15 p.m. when the train was to be taken to the shunting yard. Over 20 fire tenders were pressed into action and the blaze was controlled within an hour. However, both the bogies were badly damaged.

The train - which runs between Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi - had reached Old Delhi railway station around 1 p.m. Railway officials said there was no one in the bogies when the incident occurred. The police and the railway officials are investigating the matter.
