New Delhi
By Our Staff Reporter
At a Press conference, Mr. Udit Raj said more leaders and workers from the BSP would join his party in the coming days as they were feeling cheated by the actions of their leader. He said one could imagine the plight of the BSP leaders who were till recently speaking and working against the Congress but suddenly have been told to shut up and work for the success of the Congress candidates in 30 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Delhi. This was the reason why a large number of BSP workers were deserting their party and joining hands with him. In addition to this, he said a number of leaders of the Samata Party had deserted their party in frustration and against the indifferent attitude of its senior leaders, George Fernandes and Nitish Kumar. Accusing both the Defence Minister, George Fernandes and the Railway Minister, Nitish Kumar, of practising opportunistic and unprincipled politics for the sake of being in power, Mr. Udit Raj said the Samata Party Delhi unit had mostly merged with the Indian Justice Party and would pose a serious challenge to those who had ignored the interests of the poor. He said the main demand of his party is equal and compulsory education, reservation for all SCs residing in Delhi, reservation in higher judiciary for Dalits, backwards, minorities and reservation in private sector for Dalits.
