Examinees from Bihar said Assamese students tore up their identity cards and prevented them from taking the competitive examinations. In retaliation, the affected students are now stopping trains coming from the North-East, identifying passengers belonging to Assam and beating and looting their belongings. Today, the students went on the rampage in Munger district. Our New Delhi Special Correspondent writes: The Nationalist Congress Party general secretary, Tariq Anwar, has condemned the police action against students from Bihar appearing in a Railway entrance exam in Assam. In a statement, he demanded a high-level inquiry into the incident.
