Chandigarh drew 2-2 against Air India on Wednesday to finish second in the league with four points from three matches. For Chandigarh, Prakash Devi scored a brace (25th and 41st minute) through penalty corners, while Agnisia (26th) and Samilia (37th) netted for Air India. N. Railway, aided by a hat-trick by Pritam Siwach (34th, 48th, 59th minutes), thrashed Dhanoa Punjab Club 6-0. Suman Bala (6th), Gurpreet Kaur (31st) and Simarjeet Kaur (68th) were the other scorers. In the men's section, Bharat Petroleum, Mumbai became the last team to qualify for the semifinals when it scored a come from behind victory over 2-1 victory over Indian Oil. The Mumbai side will now take on Punjab and Sind Bank while Punjab Police will face Border Security Force in the last four. Indian Oil made an impressive start to the match with Inderjit Singh sounding the board in the 28th minute and holding on to the lead till the break. But in the second half, Bharat Petroleum came back strongly with captain Prakash converting a penalty stroke in the 39th minute. In the very next minute Olympian Sabu Verky made it 2-1 with a brilliant field goal to take the defending champions to the last four. Earlier on Tuesday, Punjab Police thrashed Air India, Mumbai 5-1 in their quarterfinal league match while BSF and Punjab and Sind Bank shared points in their quarterfinal league match which ended with both the teams tied on 2-2.
