Sterlite's call option in HZL

NEW DELHI NOV. 12. Sterlite Industries today said it had exercised call option to acquire 18.92 per cent of the government equity in Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL).

Sterlite has exercised the option through its 100 per cent subsidiary Sterlite Opportunities and Ventures Ltd. (SOVL) under the shareholder agreement with the Government through which it acquired 26 per cent stake in the company.

With today acquisition of 7.99 million shares representing 18.92 per cent of the present share capital of HZL from the Government, Sterlite's stake in the company goes up to 64.92 per cent. — UNI
