Mahesh and Sahil move into semifinals

Mumbai Nov. 12. Finalists at the recent Western India championship — Mahesh Chotrani and Sahil Vora — entered the men's semifinals of the Rs. 3 lakh prize money 28th Bombay Gymkhana Maharshtra State Open squash championship, sponsored by ABG Shipyard Ltd.

Chotrani beat Darius Surti in four games, while Vora trounced Anurag Gill in straight games.

The results:

Men (quarterfinals): Manish Chotrani bt Darius Surti 3-9, 9-0, 9-4, 9-1, Vikas Jangra bt Dhiraj Nagpal 9-7, 9-1, 9-4, Sahil Vora bt Anurag Gill 9-0, 9-5, 9-2.

Girl's under-19 (quarterfinals): Joshna Chinappa w/o U. Arsiwala , Avani Shetty bt Shreeya Somaiya 9-0, 9-0, 9-0, Saachi Mehta bt Mansi Khandelwal 9-0, 9-2, 9-4; Shahnaz Dastur bt Shahnaz Madraswala 9-0, 9-0, 9-0.

Boy's under-17 (semifinals): Sandeep Jangra bt Vikram Malhotra 9-5, 9-7, 9-2, Manek Mathur bt Sarvesh Chauhan 9-7, 9-6, 9-5.— Our Special Correspondent
