The State Minister for Women and Child Welfare and FDC, S. Saraswathi, the advisor to State Government on Film, TV and theatre development, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the CFSI chairperson, Raveena Tandon, and the two special guests on behalf of children -- Sania Mirza, Wimbledon tennis champion and Ambati Tirupati Rayudu, captain of the Indian under-19 cricket team, among others would attend the inaugural which would be marked by screening of Mr. Bones, a comedy film from South Africa. A 45-minute cultural programme would mark the inaugural with a specially composed and choreographed welcome song for the occasion by children and other programmes with local talent drawn from various schools in addition to the entertainment by Wizcraft, the event managers. Four juries have been constituted for the competitive section films, critics jury, Asian Panorama jury and child jury to give children's views. An-information-cum-control room at FDC building with Ph.No.23394038 and 23391499 would function from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for assistance and information, he said. The Chief Executive Officer of CFSI, Satish Pendharkar, said many jury members had already arrived including Asha Parekh, Revathi, Joanne E. Parsont and Michael Levtov. Eminent children's film directors from various countries and India would attend the festival apart from child TV stars. A seminar on children cinema with eminent personalities speaking on various aspects of children's films, a quiz competition, workshops for children, an animation package from Czechoslovakia, a special section devoted to films with animals, would be the other attractions. The film festival has been categorised into competitive section (international competitive section--33 films and Asian Panorama--16 films, non-competitive section (children's World-60 films), animation films, and special screenings. The Prasad Multiplex theatres (four theatres) at the Necklace Road would be the main festival theatres where screenings would be held for delegates and press. There would be two shows at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on November 14 and 20 and four shows at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on other days. The films would be screened in other theatres of the twin cities and Ranga Reddy district free of cost. Transport arrangements would be made for children from their schools to the theatres in their vicinity. The Managing Director of APSFTTDCS, Balasubramanyam, said a media centre with all facilities at Prasad Complex would be inaugurated by the Chief Minister on Thursday at 11.30 a.m. (Ph.No.23450223 and 23450224). The Doordarshan Kendra, In Cable, C-channel and AIR would give live coverage of the inaugural from 5.55 p.m. onwards. A daily bulletin would be released covering events of the festival.
