Letters to the Editor
Sir, With reference to the editorial, `Press freedom vs its adversaries' ( Nov. 12 ), the action against The Hindu reinforces the paramount need for codification of legislative privileges vis-a-vis fundamental rights. P.K. Varadarajan, Chennai * * * Sir, A free and responsible Press has become a part of our life. Any assault on this freedom is by extension an abuse of the fundamental rights of all citizens. R.K. Sudan, Lamberi, Jammu and Kashmir * * * Sir, Appreciating the courageous defence of your stand in the row with the Tamil Nadu Government and the State legislature, and yet without taking sides, I am reminded of what Voltaire said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." K. Ranga Raghavan, Chennai
