Opinion - Letters to the Editor   

To our readers....

We have received a very large number of letters supporting The Hindu in the aftermath of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly's decision to sentence five of its senior journalists to a term in prison. We have carried but a sample of these letters and hundreds remain unpublished.

In view of the need to cover other subjects, we regret that we will be able to carry only a small number from this continuing flow. We thank our readers sincerely for this inspiring response.
