Mulford to be U.S. envoy

By Sridhar Krishnaswami

WASHINGTON NOV. 14. The U.S. President, George W. Bush, has expressed his intention to nominate David Mulford, Chairman International and Member of Credit Suisse First Boston in London, England, to be the Ambassador to India. The President's intention to nominate Dr. Mulford is seen in some quarters as a desire to have an economic priority in the U.S. relationship with India. The nomination of Dr. Mulford will have to be confirmed by the Senate after the hearings process.
