`No PCB clearance for PVC plant'

By Our Staff Reporter

NELLORE NOV. 15. The district Collector, G. Anantha Ramu, on Saturday clarified that the Pollution Control Board had not given green signal to the setting up of a PVC plant by Chemplast of Tamil Nadu near Krishnapatnam village of Muttukur mandal. Also, no land was allotted for the purpose.

Addressing a press conference, he made it clear that no land under the control of the A.P. Genco was allotted to the company. The Collector said that in respect of allotment of land for industrial purposes, the responsibility had been entrusted to the A.P. Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). The APIIC, on request from any industry, would enquire about the availability of land in a particular area and, in consultation with the local administration, take a final decision, he said.
