Naidu to blow the poll bugle at Guntur

By Our Staff Reporter

GUNTUR Nov. 15. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has been making elaborate arrangements for the first-ever political public meeting to be addressed by the party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on November 19 after the dissolution of the State Assembly. The district's extended executive of the party organised a meeting at the "NTR Pranganam'', the venue identified for the conduct of the public meeting. The Minister for Medical and Health, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, the Minister for Social Welfare, J.R.Pushparaj, the district TDP president and former Ponnur MLA, D. Narendra Kumar, several former legislators, the City Mayor, Chukka Yesuratnam, and party leaders attended the meeting. Dr. Rao said that the party should make this meeting a grand success. He recalled that the late N.T.Rama Rao HAD addressed a mammoth public meeting in connection with the "rythu sadassu'' organised by the party on the eve of Assembly elections in 1994. The party romped home with a thumping margin in those elections. Similarly, the election bugle would be blown by the party president and Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, from Guntur for the 2004 elections. Dr. Rao said the TDP would repeat the 1994 feat by winning a majority of seats in the next elections.

The Minister appealed to all the former MLAs, party MPs, members of local bodies and other leaders to make the event a grand success. The district leaders would tour the district in the coming four days to urge the people to participate in the November 19 meeting in large numbers.
