`India emerging as economic superpower'

Toronto Nov. 15. Lauding India's economic progress, Canada's Prime Minister-designate, Paul Martin, has said the country was emerging as an economic superpower.

``Within a generation, the U.S. will not be the lone economic superpower. India and China are already accelerating global competition, shaking the foundations of the world economy," Mr. Martin said in his maiden speech after he officially became theleader of Canada's ruling Liberal Party. — PTI
