New York Nov. 15. Narayan D. Keshavan, an Indian American Pulitzer prize-winning journalist-turned-political activist and lobbyist passed away a day after defending the outsourcing of jobs to India in a live interview on the Cable News Network.

He collapsed shortly after a lengthy appearance on CNN's Lou Dobbe Tonight Show on Thursday.

He suffered a heart attack as he came out of the interview and was rushed to hospital where he died on Friday.

Keshavan (53) was the Executive Director of the Indo-American Forum for Political Education and a long-time player in Indo-U.S. relations with unique access at the highest levels of the U.S. and Indian Governments.

The Indian Ambassador to the United States, Lalit Mansingh, expressed ``deep grief and shock'' at the death of Mr. Keshavan. — PTI
