Opposition to Metro venture grows

BANGALORE Nov. 15. Barely three days after Metro Cash and Carry opened its second outlet in Bangalore, trade and industry organisations in the State have decided to join forces to oppose it even as the State Government has thrown its weight behind the German multinational which plans to source produce directly from farmers.

The opening of the first Metro outlet in Yeshwantpur and the second one on Kanakapura Road evoked widespread opposition.
