"The Government says the drought has led to suicides. But, our farmers are courageous enough to face ten more droughts like this. They are actually disgusted with the anti-farmer policies. Ever since 1990, farmers have been put to great hardship due to globalisation and the policy on fertilizer subsidy," the CPI State Secretary, Siddanagouda Patil, said. Subsidies on fertilizers and power were being cut, he said.
