House burgled

CHENNAI NOV. 15. Gold jewellery weighing over 40 sovereigns and Rs. 30,000 in cash were stolen from a house in suburban Pallavaram on Friday.

According to the police, the burglary was discovered when the resident, B. Thangapandian, a BSNL employee returned home from work at around 1 p.m. He had left the house at 10 a.m. along with his wife and son, who were also employees of the BSNL. Mr. Thangapandian noticed that the door lock was broken and the valuables missing from two bureaus.

The Pallavaram police said fingerprints were lifted from the scene of crime.
