Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to the report of the authorities' futile attempts in Thanjavur to move a temple elephant to the Mudumalai sanctuary ( Nov. 15 ). However noble the intention to hold a `rejuvenation camp' for elephants, the methods used to transport them deserve condemnation.
A. Narayanan,
* * * Sir, Is all the stress and physical pain undergone by the elephants worth it? Ironically, the camp is being organised to rest them and improve their health!
Anand Krishnaswamy,
