Minister's house attacked

Imphal Nov. 16. Unidentified gunmen attacked the Manipur Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Parijat Singh's house last night at Nongada, about 25 kms from here, police said today.

Six gunmen, who had come in a Maruti car and two-wheelers, opened fire at the Minister's house after ordering the inmates to come out. The gunmen fled immediately after the firing, police said.

No security guard was present in the house as the Minister and his family members were residing in the official quarters near here.

Some of Mr. Singh's family members had gathered yesterday at his house as the wedding of the Minister's son is to take place there soon, police said.
