This Day That Age
Din Weisbaden in West Germany, a professional faster established on the 15th a new world record for fasting. The West German news agency, D.P.A., said the man known by his stage name `Heras', had gone without food for 80 days and five hours, to improve on the record of 80 days set by an Indian. The Indian faster had earlier toppled Heras's own record of 76 days. Heras was shut in a glass case in August at the commencement of his fast.
