Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Mr. Kistappa said the project, on completion, would provide irrigation facility to 3,700 acres directly and benefit another 3,000 acres indirectly. The project was a long-felt dream of the people of Kadiri constituency, he said. The Government had also sanctioned Rs. 25 lakhs each for the development of public health centres at Devanahalli (Hindupur rural mandal), Thimmanapalli (Yadiki), Bukkapatnam and Tarimela (Singanamala). Regarding ration cards, he said the Government had already sanctioned 1.72 lakh white cards. Admitting some lapses in the Velugu survey, he said they would be rectified after the ongoing exercise and cards would be given to all the eligible families.
