The Health Officer of the Srinagar Municipal Committee and the Local Health Authority have, in the interest of public health, banned the manufacture, sale, storing, or distributing any articles of food containing tobacco and its extract with any kind of sweetness, including sugar, glucose or aromatic herbs and spices including dry fruits, silver leaves, saffron, and so on in Srinagar city, an official spokesman today said. Any person found violating the ban will have to face legal action, he added.
