ONGC eyes Russian co.

MOSCO NOV. 17 . International energy groups, including India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), U.S. majors Chevron-Texaco and ConocoPhillips, are among 15 companies pitching to buy a 25.8-per cent stake in the Russian oil group, Rusia Petroleum, the business daily Vedomosti reported today.

In view of the widespread interest, the shares could fetch between $200 million and $500 million (174-435 million euros) for the Russian tycoon, Vladimir Potanin's Interros Holding Company, which owns them, analysts believe.
