Peace process

Sir, — Norway's tilt towards the LTTE and now its retreat from the Sri Lankan peace process hold lessons for those Indian politicians who talk of involving the U.S. as a facilitator in the talks between India and Pakistan. We should keep out all third parties, however well meaning they may be.

Sir, — The Norway-led facilitators sided with the LTTE from the very beginning. The Norwegian-led Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission ignored many violations of the ceasefire agreement by the LTTE. Their presence has done more harm than good to Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankans will willingly say goodbye to the Norwegians.
