In a memorandum submitted to the Collector, Sumita Dawra, here on Monday, the CPI district secretary, Chada Venkat Reddy, suggested the administration to involve representatives of all political parties for the identification of beneficiaries at the village-level.
Protest programme
The CPI district unit will be organise the Collectorate besiege programme on November 20 demanding implementation of a charter of demands including announcement of special package for the Telangana region and implementation of G.O. 610 among others. Mr. Chada Venkat Reddy demanded the Government to announce a special package for completion of the SRSP Flood Flow Canal in a time-bound programme to provide irrigation facilities in the upland mandals of the district. He also demanded the Government to continue the mid-day meal scheme even on all holidays and implement the scheme for the disabled, pregnant women and aged persons.
CPI(M) dharna
Meanwhile, the CPI(M) town unit members staged a dharna in front of the chambers of the Collector demanding ration cards. Alleging irregularities in the Velugu survey for the distribution of ration cards they demanded the administration to increase the income level from the existing Rs. 11,000 per annum to Rs. 36,000 per annum for the distribution of white ration cards.
